It only makes sense to start this blog with a picture of me doing something I absolutely love: cruising! In the last ten years, my husband of forty-six years and I began going out on the deep blue seas exploring the world.
We typically cruise three or four times a year, and during these trips, we’ve explored destinations I never imagined I’d visit in my lifetime. We mostly sail with Carnival because, as I always say, it’s not the glamour or luxuries of life that bring true joy—it’s the simple moments, like gazing out at the ocean where it meets the horizon.
In this picture, I’m walking the loop at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, one of my very favorite places to visit. For most of my sixty plus years I have been blessed with the opportunities to enjoy this quaint island, in which I am truly grateful!
So as you can see, I’ve had lots of blessings flow in my direction, but I’ve also had my struggles. And it is in both, I have been able to find joy.
I know that you have a totally different life story as I do, but even so, joy is available to all!
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. _ Romans 12:12
