Have you ever considered why God gives us animals to live among us?
This is Vern, our French Bulldog. Vern doesn’t speak, but it isn’t difficult to know what he likes and what he would rather avoid. He loves the heat that radiates out of the fireplace. When he hears the word “walk”, he jumps up and down until he is leashed and gets to strut out into the neighborhood.
Vern never complains or seems to have a bad day. He’s eager to sit next to me when I am hurting or upset about something. All I have to do is look into his deep dark eyes and I feel better.
